Windows patch cleaner - Free Download
I have searched in good faith on the forum for a simple answer to this question and have not found one. Apologies if I've missed something obvious. I am functionally computer literate, but no expert. So perhaps some of the more technical explanations have eluded me. I have found plenty of references to Clean Up utilities for older Windows versions, but not Win My question seems simple: I have Installer Patches taking up huge chunks of space, now totaling nearly 25GB.
I don't really know what those files are, or what they do, or if it is ever safe to delete them. I have run the "Clean Up" tool in Win 10, but it does not address those files.
So, is there a way for a a novice user to safely and relatively simply clean up that folder to save space? Or am I just stuck with those files continuing to mount up on my hard drive? You cannot delete Windows Installer folders. Yes, they do take up a huge amount of space. They are part of the software that is installed on your computer. I have had some feedback that a few users are having problems where PatchCleaner is being detected as Malware. In saying all that, I do not warrant the product so use at your own risk.
